Priti Chawla is the Founder and Executive Director of Obesity Matters, a national nonprofit organization that brings together people with lived experience, healthcare professionals, researchers, and advocates to improve obesity care through education, community, and evidence based advocacy.

Growing up, Priti was the "chubby" girl in her class. The comments, comparisons, and judgments she experienced left lasting scars, contributing to years of body dysmorphia and self doubt that she continues to navigate today. Those experiences shaped not only how she saw herself, but also the relationships she chose, the opportunities she pursued, the decisions she made, and the voice she almost never found.

Today, Priti is passionate about creating communities where people feel seen, heard, and valued beyond their appearance. She believes that how we see and value ourselves influences how we connect with others, what we accept in relationships, and the choices we make. For Priti, healing begins with connection, and authentic relationships, whether with ourselves or with others, are built on self worth rather than shame. She speaks not as someone who has all the answers, but as someone willing to share her journey with honesty, vulnerability, and hope.
